Youth and High School rugby leaders from across New York State will converge on Albany on Saturday, January 16th to take the next steps in creating a SBRO (State Based Rugby Organization) at the second NYS Youth and High School Rugby Conference.

State Based Rugby Organizations are building momentum for the youth and high school game all over the country with 23 states currently organized and another 13 in the formative stages.

State Based rugby organizations are the model of the future and New York should be in a leadership position in regards to the development of the game.

At the last meeting in January of 2008 the vision, framework and network were created to make state based rugby a reality.

The conference will be facilitated by USA Rugby Youth and High School Director Mark Griffin.

It is being hosted by Capitol District Youth Rugby and will be held at the Colonie Youth Bureau, 1653 Central Avenue, Colonie, NY 12205 from 10am to 3pm.

Anyone with an interest in seeing rugby grow and prosper at the youth and high school levels in New York State should plan to attend.
