For the first time in about as long as we can remember, Cal has been knocked off its perch and has been replaced by Kutztown as the new #1 ranked team in the country.

It's not because UC Berkeley has been losing, it really has more to do with California being idle than anything else.

The flipside is that the Golden Bears from Pennsylvania have been on a tear since the start of the Mid-Atlantic Premier League and have reaped the rewards of their efforts by slotting in at the top of heap.

Indeed, the top three teams in this week’s Down Under Endeavours Top 25 are all new with Utah and Navy filling the other spots.

Last season’s Big Four teams Cal, St Mary’s, and BYU fill the next three places ahead of other upward movers Penn State, Army, and Dartmouth. Air Force and Wyoming round out the eight teams on the ascendancy.

In the Midwest, Bowling Green and Ohio State won again, but because of the conference’s lower Power Rating they don’t go up. Elsewhere, LSU kick started its fall season by racking up a century against Stephen F Austin University.

Of the teams that have slipped this week, Delaware drops out altogether after dropping its third straight game in the Mid-Atlantic Premier League, while UC Davis falls out of the rankings, at least for the moment, because it too is idle.

There are two new entries this week. Oklahoma makes a return after a lengthy hiatus, while Syracuse makes its Down Under Endeavours Top 25 debut.
