The rain that preceded the game continued throughout and was joined by a cold southerly gale.
With standing water on the ground, the home side dominated territory in the first half, scoring 15 unanswered points.
The All-Americans had to rely on their kicking game in the second half, but despite dominating territory only crossed the try line once with a try by replacement Matt Byrd.
It was only in the final stages of the game that the All-Americans began to feel comfortable with the conditions, whilst the home side had the appropriate skills to handle the conditions with confidence throughout.
A new experience for many, and several lessons learned as the All-Americans prepare for their final match of the tour against New Zealand Universities on Wednesday, July 30.
