The University of South Carolina earned their second win in as many days by defeating East Carolina 46-5 on the road Sunday.

USC head coach Geoff Mason called it a “solid win” and gave praise to outside center Peter Boland for scoring four tries on the day.

The Gamecocks will also be awarded a bonus point for the win by scoring four or more tries.

As a result, they remain unbeaten and pull within 1 point of league leading NC State. The two teams tied 8-8 in adverse conditions earlier this year.

Each team will play Clemson to close out their season. The Division I Gamecocks will host the Tigers next Friday March 5th, and the Division II Wolfpack will travel to Clemson the following Friday March 12th.

Should the two end the season tied in the points standings, the first tiebreaker would be which team surrendered fewer points.

League standings:
NC State (4-0-1) 20 pts
South Carolina (4-0-1) 19 pts
North Carolina (3-2) 15 pts
Appalachian State (2-3) 12 pts
Wake Forest (2-3) 10 pts
Clemson (1-3) 6 pts
East Carolina (0-5) 2 pts

Elsewhere, the SEC league played a makeup game Sunday when Alabama traveled to Georgia. The Bulldogs handled their guests, blanking them 34-0.
