Following their second straight league loss in the Mid-Atlantic, Penn State suffers the biggest drop for the second week in a row. The Nittany Lions have made an unusual stuttered start to the season, and as a result of their defeat by Kutztown they fall seven places.
Following on from PSU’s big drop, several other teams have benefited by climbing the rankings, three of which haven’t played a game yet.
In the wake of their second consecutive Western Conference loss, New Mexico has gone the same way Maryland went a week ago by dropping out altogether, while Vassar enters the rankings for the first time based on their unbeaten run to date in Met New York.
As we reported at the weekend, Utah had quietly won a couple of games prior to their match with BYU last week, giving them a 3-1 record when combined with their most recent win against San Diego State.
