Weather permitting, we’re staring down the barrel of another hectic weekend of college ball right across the country.

With so many matchups to pick from, the choice for the ARN Game of the Week wasn’t easy, but we’ve gone with a Southern California Premier League fixture.

#22 UCLA hosts Cal Poly and while it’s not a high-powered clash of unbeatens, or a game that will have a huge bearing on next week’s Top 25, it’s a match that could throw a wrench in the spokes of either one of them in terms of whether they keep alive their postseason aspirations, particularly Cal Poly.

So far both teams have been patchy to say the least in league play, although the Bruins (1-1) have a better record than do the Mustangs (0-2) and should Cal Poly lose, it would virtually be the death knell of their season.

They know it, of course, and will be on a mission to start turning their season around in Los Angeles, which means that UCLA could be in for one tough afternoon.

Elsewhere, the Carolinas League and Southeastern League are due to resume after last week’s spate of cancellations due to that severe wintry weather.

Likewise, the Texas and Pacific Northwest Conferences are set to resume after early starts in the fall.
