Kutztown’s planned match Thursday night against the Atlanta Renegades was scratched at the last minute ostensibly because of rain.
The Renegades play on a city park and when it rains in Atlanta the City Parks Department generally rules that the grounds are unsuitable for sports.
While it rained Wednesday, it stopped Thursday morning.
Elsewhere, Utah’s planned game against Washington, which was set for Saturday in Salt Lake City, has been shelved reportedly because UW couldn’t organize transportation from Seattle.
That game was first put on both teams’ schedules last October.
As a result, the Utes have arranged a last minute game against the Salt Lake Community College.
“This is another reason why we need the best 24 to 32 teams in the country to help create a better system,” Utah head coach Blake Burdette tells ARN.
Utah’s match against Utah State, a Division II school, scheduled for March 20th has also had the kybosh put on it, this time because the Utah Rugby Union waited until the 11th hour to decide that the DII regional playoffs will be held that weekend.
Instead, Utah will play the Haggis men’s team next weekend.
And an update on ARN’s Game of the Week between BYU and Colorado - the match will be televised by BYU-TV.
Both Dish Network and DIRECTV carry BYU-TV, but if you don’t have either you can still watch the game online at www.byutv.com/streaming
