Rutgers opened its spring season with a friendly versus St Joes in Philadelphia Saturday and went home to New Jersey with a 22-15 win under its belt.

It was a four tries to two count in the end after things were all locked up 10-10 at halftime.

Getting on the board for Rutgers were wing Chris Jones, inside center CJ Deausen, flanker Mike McCorry, and lock Mike Acciani.

Scrumhalf Rob Boudreau got a lone conversion.

“The game had some moments of spectacular play, but for the most part was riddled with miscues and out of synch play which is par for the course when you start in February in the northeast as the weather does not lead to consistent outdoor practices leading up to matches,” Rutgers head coach Ken Halligan told ARN.
