This week’s Down Under Endeavours Top 25 reflects that trend.
Nine teams fall, including one that drops from the rankings altogether, while four others climb and we see the reappearance of a team that has been on the sidelines for some time.
The top three remain the same, while LSU, San Diego State and Army move up behind them.
The middle of the pack is unchanged as everyone from #9 through #14 won at the weekend, as did Arizona, which now slots into the top 16 after securing Southern California’s second seed for the nationals.
Further down the order, Colorado State is back in the mix following its second-place finish in the Western Conference, a spot that has earned the Rams a shot at qualifying for the Western Championships later this month.
In order to make way for CSU someone else had to be bumped, so we say sayonara to Dartmouth.
It could perhaps be argued that Florida State is lucky to still be ranked after crashing out of the Florida Cup, but the ‘Noles have played more games than the Big Green against comparable or better opposition.
