As the much anticipated national playoffs are just days away, everyone’s records, point differentials and Power Ratings have been tallied one more time for this week’s Down Under Endeavours Top 25.

The most noticeable thing about these rankings is that just because a team has qualified for the Round of 16, it doesn’t necessarily mean that team is automatically one of the top 16 sides in the country.

The reason is that some teams in the playoffs come from weaker conferences, something we feel is a significant variable.

Conversely, several teams that haven’t made it would probably beat others that have because they play in stronger conferences.

Kutztown is a good example of that - KU missed the cut, but pummeled DII side Drexel 94-6 at the weekend and has scheduled Rutgers for this week to wrap up its spring campaign.

We have also rejigged Cal Poly’s overall record to take into account games that were overlooked during the regular season.

So after a big spring clean, let the games begin.
