Colorado State hit another bump road in the shape of the University of Northern Colorado as the topflight Division II side scored a 25-17 win against their DI rivals Friday night in Greeley, CO.

In a close four tries to three contest, UNC led narrowly 10-7 at halftime.

Northern Colorado turned on some razzle dazzle football at times under lights in the Rocky Mountains and the Rams found themselves outmaneuvered on the night.

UNC was very good in loose play and made the most of their opportunities by turning in several long-range probes during the 80 minutes. They added a conversion and a penalty goal to round out the scoring.

Justin Pauga, Cole Hanson, and Craig Sherman all dotted down for the Rams.

“They played an open style of game,” Colorado State head coach Blake Stevens told ARN. “We had planned to play that kind of game too, but they’re one of the best teams at running the ball.”

The result dropped CSU to 3-8 overall, but their season isn’t quite done yet as they are due to host the inaugural Ruckin' n the Rockies tournament on the weekend of April 12-13.
