Life University and Pearl City will play for the top two seeds from CR3 after lopsided wins in the competitive region’s semifinals Saturday in Atlanta, GA.

In the early game, hosts Life pounded South Side Irish 66-8, while Pearl City upended Palmer College 54-23 in the second match.

There were a slew of flight cancellations out of Chicago Friday which disrupted the travel plans of the Irish and consequently the club turned up in Atlanta minus some players.

Immediately after the match against Life, South Side reportedly advised Palmer that it would be forfeiting Sunday’s contest to determine the CR3’s third and fourth seeds.

In the second game, the Black Bears outscored Palmer by ten tries to four. Pearl City was paced to the victory by Apelu Faaiuga and Ben Miller, who scored multiple times between them, along with David Haynes who added a single.

“We didn’t play terribly well but still did enough to win,” Pearl City head coach Roy Carver told ARN. “We play Palmer two or three times a year and it was a typical game. It wasn’t the game I was hoping for and we’ll need to do better against Life tomorrow.”

Pearl City and Life will square off in the main game Sunday to decide how the #1 and #2 seeds will be dealt leading up to the national playoffs next month in Austin, TX.
