This weekend will see more Division I postseason action on the east coast with the CR4 playoffs set to continue to sort out who goes to the national Round of 16 next month in Austin, TX.

Eight teams from the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic will be trimmed down to four that will represent the region.

The four Northeastern teams are #1 Mystic River, #2 Long Island, #3 White Plains and #4 Old Blue. The Mid-Atlantic sides are #1 Maryland Exiles, #2 Baltimore-Chesapeake, #3 Media and #4 Schuylkill River.

The Mystics go into the quarterfinal stage of the postseason as one of the hot shot teams in DI anywhere in the country. They won the New England title last fall, and then backed that up by clinching the NRU championship two weeks ago.

Long Island was the form team in the Met New York competition during the fall and finished second to Mystic River in the NRU championships.

Further south on the Atlantic seaboard the Maryland Exiles emerged as the top team in the Mid-Atlantic Championship Division last fall with a 5-2 record, while Baltimore-Chesapeake had an equally impressive run through the fall also posting a 5-2 record.

Saturday’s quarterfinals will determine the four teams that will be going to Austin in mid-May. They will face off in the semifinals and final at the end of the month to determine the CR4’s four seeds.
