The new club will field five different teams competing in both Division 1 (Highlanders) and Division 2 (Queen City), as well as a C-side, an U23 team and an Old Boys team.
This merger will allow more competitive playing opportunities for players of all levels while maintaining the traditions and history of both clubs.
Head coach for the club will be Highlander coach Steve Lewis assisted by Alex Agre and Queen City coach Neil Rushbrooke.
"This is the future of rugby in Denver," said Lewis, "as the new venture epitomizes what the sport is all about. We’ll have physical competition on the field, and fun and friendship off it."
Highlander’s president Bryan Ellsaesser and Queen City president Matt Berry called the two club combination “historic” and an exciting development for the future of club rugby in Denver.
“We’ll be extremely competitive on the field in this coming fall and spring seasons, and also have a unified effort to gain additional resources and corporate partnership opportunities,” said Berry.

The Queen City Rams Rugby Football Club was formed in 1972 and has a long and successful tradition in Denver Rugby. The team played in the Division II in the most recent spring season.
The clubs will organize under the “Denver Rugby” banner for the next 12 months and register under that name with the local area union, Eastern Rockies Rugby Football Union (ERRFU) and USA Rugby.
