Mystics and Boston still set pace

Mystic River has gone back to the top of the standings and remains in a two-way tie with Boston after Week Five of the New England men’s Division I competition.

Both teams are still unbeaten, the Mystics having accumulated one more bonus point than has Boston.

Mystic River was red hot in this weekend’s round of matches, pounding on the Boston Irish Wolfhounds to the tune of 47-0 in a seven-try shutout of the Irish. Try-scorers included Sprague, Burgess, du Preez, Green, Washek, Torchiana and Digby. Doherty added three conversions and two penalty goals to round out the Mystics’ scoring.

Elsewhere, Boston beat Albany to remain perfect on the season. Other Week Five winners were Amoskeag and New Haven.
