The Glendale Raptors have opened their preseason with a 40-19 win against the University of Colorado.

Glendale got off to a great start with two quick tries to take an early advantage.

All-American lock Casey Rock went in twice to put the Raptors up 20-5 after just 15 minutes, while prop Alex Nattoli got one back for Colorado.

The Buffs settled down after the early rush by Glendale to play well throughout the rest of the game.

Set pieces were dominated by Glendale, which took three tighthead scrums and put a ton of pressure on Colorado halfback Shane Milek that saw numerous turnovers. The lineouts were also dominated by Glendale.

Colorado never backed down, however, and standouts were All-American #8 Tommy Pasque (1), new fullback Chris Martin (1) and flyhalf Charlie Euwema - all members of the West 2009 All-Star team.

For Glendale, 19 year old Colin Bartolomeao was a worthy Man of the Match, halfback Josh Schmitz was busy all day and 39 year old Andre Bachelet continues to defy the years.
