The American #9 will check-in at Clifton Lane this summer after catching the eye of the club’s head coach during last year’s Rugby World Cup in France.
Erskine, who first played in the UK with Waterloo a couple of seasons ago, had an outstanding game against England in the pool stages and will play for Rotherham for next season.
“Chad impressed against quality opposition in the World Cup and his conditioning has improved dramatically since he became involved in international rugby,” Titans head coach Craig West is quoted as saying on the club’s website.
“He will be a quality addition to our squad and I have a lot of confidence in his ability to perform in National One.”
Erskine says he's excited about the signing.
“It’s a one-year deal that I hope will turn into a long term venture with the club,” Erskine tells ARN.
“I know Rotherham is a very traditional club full of history and so many great players. I played against them last season while I was at Waterloo and they are a very professional outfit. In 2006 they missed out on promotion to the Premiership by 5 or 6 points to Leeds, but have also spent some time in the Premiership before.
“I've heard some very good things about head coach Craig West and I'm looking forward to working with him next season. I think my first goal out in England will be establishing myself as a regular starter in the first team then take it step by step after that.
“I'm excited to be back playing 30 odd games in the season and being able to immerse myself into my rugby skills and conditioning for 10 straight months.”
Erskine starts with Rotherham on July 1st.
