I am not sure how much the US rugby world is aware of the current IRB proposed law changes to the global game, but I have seen very little of it on any US websites.

In my opinion, these proposals could result in quite a significant change in the way rugby is played. I do, however, say that I am biased as I am strongly against these changes.

I have started a petition to hopefully present to the IRB showing the ground swell of opinion against them at the grassroots level, I was hoping you could feature it on your website.

It strikes me that the more people who are aware of them the more thought will go into the eventual decision on whether to bring them in.

I really enjoy reading Bruce McLane's coaching articles. They are insightful, experienced, funny, pure, opinionated, and honest. Great stuff.

Keep up the great work!

My first observation was that 80% of the coaches that voted [ARN All-Americans] must have been from the east coast.

You selected 79 players, with Cal having 9 representatives. I have no problem with that number, but would have included at least 2 more. Of the other three teams that played in the final four this past weekend, you selected a combined total of 8 players. That is one more than the 7 from Dartmouth.

The Pacific Coast had three teams in the final four and have a combined total of 14 players selected. Yet, Kutztown (5), Tennessee (4) and Dartmouth (7) have a combined total of 16 players selected.

How in the world can you actually place seven Dartmouth players, three Colorado players, and only two BYU players on the same team?

Last time I checked we played way below our potential and still put up 48 points and eliminated Dartmouth from the playoffs then proceeded to annihilate CU in the Final 4. Sure we turned around and got worked by Cal the next day but we're basing this team off of a season of work and not one weekend right?

ARN replies: Our All-American players were selected on their total body of work over the entire season (September-May).

The two dozen coaches from across the country who nominated the players based their selections on nine months of observations, not just one or two weekends.
