Invictus in Top 3

Invictus – the Clint Eastwood movie about Nelson Mandela’s rise to prominence in South Africa during the 1995 Rugby World Cup has proved something of a success at the box office.

The film starring Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon came in at #3.

Invictus raked in $9.1 million nationwide for Warner Bros in its first weekend in theaters.

The top ranked movie was the Disney animation The Princess and the Frog, which grossed $25 million.

The Blind Side, also a Warner Bros movie, was #2 bringing in $15.5 million.

The Blind Side chronicles the real-life story of Baltimore Ravens rookie lineman Michael Oher, who had been a homeless teen taken in by a wealthy couple and stars Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw.
