Start today by being the first one to put in the high bid for a Xerox Lions jersey worn and autographed by United States captain Todd Clever from his first ever start in a Super 14 match and this piece of rugby history could be all yours.
The jersey would make an excellent, one of a kind gift for that favorite rugby fan.
And as always, have the satisfaction of knowing that every cent raised from the jersey auction will be directed towards existing USRFF youth and high school programs.
As he does in most matches he plays in, Todd led by example when the Eagles took on Uruguay in the second of two matches with a World Cup berth on the line.
Scoring two tries, Todd was spectacular in the 27-6 victory, ensuring the United States will be represented in New Zealand in 2011.
Todd is the first and as of yet, only American player to play in the ultra competitive Super 14, which features the best players from South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
He had played in some of the early round matches for the Lions but it wasn't until the Round Five encounter with the Brumbies that Todd got the nod to start in the #7 jersey. His opposite that day was none other than Australian legend George Smith.
While Todd is making noise in the Southern Hemisphere, his goal is to help the game grow back home.
“Rugby has been such a huge part of my life ever since I started playing in high school," said the rugged backrower.
"I want to see more and more kids playing the sport in the States and whenever I can help with that growth I will."
