It was all the Knights through the first two quarters as they led 30-0 at halftime.
New York’s Luke Hume and Gareth Baxendale had big games and were instrumental from dummy half setting up the Knights’ victory.
Hume, an U21 player from the Cronulla club in Sydney, touched down no fewer than six times, while Baxendale was among the other try-scorers.
“We started really well with good completions early on,” Knights head coach Guillaume Cieutat told ARN.
“With a good team like the Bulls, you’ve got to make sure that you hold onto the ball. I thought our combination from dummy half was excellent.”
Despite a slow start, Aston scored the final two tries of the game and earned a bonus point for posting four tries.
“We’re not used to losing games but one of the positive things I look at it is that the team is 90% American guys,” added Bulls coach Marcus Vassilakopoulos.
“It was frustrating because we turned over a lot of ball and probably bombed three tries. We also didn’t complete our sets.”
