Rugby league's international supremo will be at the Australia Day Challenge match in Jacksonville, FL, Saturday casting an eye over more than just the game.

The executive chairman of the Rugby Football League Richard Lewis reportedly is looking at Jacksonville as a possible host city for the annual World Club Challenge.

The Australia Day Challenge match, between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Leeds Rhinos, is the first rugby league game between two top international club teams to be played in the US.

Lewis apparently is thinking about the possibility of bringing other major rugby league matches to the United States. Currently he chairs the Rugby League European Federation and is deputy chair of the Rugby League International Federation.

The annual World Club Challenge pits the Australian National Rugby League champions against the winners of the European RFL. If Lewis settles on Jacksonville, it could well set the city up as an international sporting destination.
