The 49th Annual New York Rugby 7s Tournament will be held this year on Saturday, November 24th on Randall's Island in New York City. Over 90 men's and women's teams from across the United States and around the world will participate in the country's largest 7s tournament.

Since 1959, the New York Rugby Club (NYRC) has hosted this tournament on the Saturday following Thanksgiving. The New York Sevens tournament traditionally marks the end of the fall rugby season in the Metropolitan area. The tournament follows a "sevens" rugby format, with seven players per side and two 7-minute halves.

"We are proud to host the best rugby sevens tournament in the country," said NYRC president Dave Levine. "With teams and players traveling from as far away as Australia, the UK, and Jamaica, the level of play is going to be truly spectacular."

This year teams will be traveling from Australia, England, Canada, Jamaica, Wales, and across the US from California to Maine. Teams enter one of nine different divisions for all levels of playing ability: men's premier, men's club, women's club, men's social, men's college, old boys, women's college, and a boys' and girls' U-19 division.

For more information on the tournament please contact Jessa Giordano, NY 7s tournament director, at 917-626-2805 or ny7s@newyorkrugby.com
