Now that spring is here, for some at least, thoughts are starting to turn to warmer weather, vacations, and the busy domestic summer of sevens ahead of us.

One event to consider adding to the calendar is the sixth annual Barefoot Sevens tournament in Fort Myers Beach, FL, in late July.

The competition will be held on the sand in southwestern Florida by the Gulf of Mexico on the weekend of July 26. There will be several divisions including Men’s Open, Men’s Over 35 (for the coveted Ricky Pigott Cup), Men’s High School, and Ladies Open.

The 2007 tourney saw 28 teams in total with a touring side from Wales taking down Florida Atlantic University in the Men’s Open final.

The weekend’s play wraps up with a highly attended Poker Run through the best establishments in Fort Myers Beach.
