So there are only four teams left in the fight now for the USA Rugby women's Division I national collegiate championship.

Can Penn State repeat? Will Stanford exact revenge? Can Navy sustain their momentum? Or will the Ivy Leaguers continue their winning ways?

The first semifinal sees Penn State take on Brown University. This is Brown's first time in the final four and that is in stark contrast to Penn State who have been in five of the last six championship games.

Brown have a tidy set of forwards and have a tremendous team spirit. They tend to be a bit too lateral for my liking, but it's hard to argue with their results.

They have an exceptional talent in Emilie Bydwell at outside center. The Brown student also plays ice hockey, but I would expect Pete Steinberg and Jim Mathias, the Penn State coaches, to figure out a way to keep her contained. If not, then Brown may well advance. My pick is Penn State to make their fifth consecutive final.

Stanford against Navy is hard to call. Stanford, like Penn State, has the pedigree but the service academies are always tough to beat. Navy has twice run Penn State close this year and would like nothing more than to see them again in the championship game.

Stanford was never tested in Albuquerque, but the one common opponent they had this year was Virginia. The Cavaliers lost to Navy two weeks ago 28-5 and Stanford beat them 58-5. If Navy use their kicking game to good effect they could win this one, but I don't think they will do that and so I'm opting for Stanford.

It looks like deja-vu all over again as the Nittany Lions take on the Cardinal. There will be no love lost in that final match-up - pick 'em!
